McDonald’s newest McFlurry flavor officially debuts at restaurants nationwide Monday.
And the next day, the fast-food chain is offering a way to get the Caramel Brownie McFlurry free through its mobile app at participating restaurants nationwide.
In a news release announcing the Tuesday, May 4, offer, McDonald’s says the regular-size freebie is for anyone who has ever mistaken the McFlurry spoon for a straw, which it says is everyone.
“Simply scan the offer code in McDonald’s App and pick up our newest treat at your local participating restaurant, no purchase necessary,” the chain said.
There’s a limit of one free McFlurry per app user, according to the fine print. New users need to download the app and register for an account.

The new McFlurry blends vanilla soft serve with brownie pieces and caramel topping. McDonald’s said the Caramel Brownie McFlurry made its initial debut in 2017 in Canada. It’ll be available in the U.S. for a limited time.
There’s also a way to get a free McFlurry for delivery. From May 3 to 9 a $15 minimum purchase on McDelivery with Uber Eats, which can be ordered in-app, will get fans a free regular-size Caramel Brownie McFlurry, McDonald’s said. Delivery and other fees apply.
McDonald’s has offered other recent limited-time McFlurry flavors, including a Chips Ahoy! McFlurry, which was released in September, and the Oreo Shamrock McFlurry, which came back in mid-February and was available through St. Patrick’s Day.
“As our fans rejoice in the changing of the seasons, we’re excited to give them a new way to enjoy our most iconic dessert,” Chad Schafer, McDonald’s senior director of culinary, said in a statement last month. “In fact, the flavors in our new Caramel Brownie McFlurry are inspired by that first-warm-day-of-the-year feeling.”
The chain will release its next celebrity collaboration later in May with K-pop superstars BTS. The BTS Meal launches May 26 in the U.S. and 11 other countries.
