Queen Elizabeth Insisted on Cutting Her Cake with a Sword

  • Earlier this weekend, at an event for volunteers organizing next year’s Platinum Jubilee celebrating the Queen’s 70th year on the throne, the Queen hilariously cut a cake with a sword.
    • The Queen insisted on using a ceremonial sword to cut the cake at the event, a move that caused Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, and Kate Middleton to laugh.
      • “I know there is,” she said when someone reminded her that there was a knife available to cut the cake with. “This is something that is more unusual.”

Girl, 3, requests morbid ‘Lion King’ scene on birthday cake so she can have it all to herself

A request from a 3-year-old girl celebrating her birthday went viral when pictures of her birthday cake were posted online by her family.

The special request from the birthday girl, Leona, was that her cake depict the scene from “The Lion King” where Mufasa, Simba’s father, dies.

And Leona had a reason for such a seemingly morbid request.

“Everyone will be too sad to eat the cake and it will be all for me,” she said, according to a Twitter post by her uncle, Casey Feigh.

Bringing the cake back home was a big event.”

Jinich has since perfected the traditional tres leches cake recipe and many adaptations, having to make it out of necessity when she first came to the U.S. more than two decades ago. “When I first moved here, you

In 2019, 9-year-old Isla from South Africa wrote all about why she has been asking for donations to Save the Rhino International instead of presents for her birthday since she turned six. To date she has raised £880 for rhino conservation.

A Coconut Cake for the Ages

No one has ever complimented me on my decisiveness. It takes me forever to make a decision, and then, when I do, I second-guess it, myself and the universe. Given my constitutional aversion to choosing one of anything, when we had to move out of our house last fall for a renovation we committed to in more normal times, I surprised myself by finding it easy to pick the kitchen tools I’d take with me to the rental cottage. I packed a couple of spatulas and whisks, a fish turner, a Microplane grater, a ruler, scissors, a mashing fork I
