10 ways fast food is making you sick and depressed

Here’s some dangerous food for thought.

With alarming obesity rates on an annual basis, Americans are often accused of being imprisoned by their deadly addictions to fast food and ultra-processed junk.

Now, the month of January inevitably brings along with it an insatiable need to make a new year resolution. However, an estimated 40% of the US population has pledged to do better this time around by eating healthier, according to recent surveys.

But by the end of the first week of 2022, about one-quarter of them will have already dropped the ball on their big fat resolutions.

Don’t let your sticky fingers lead you astray.

The snack bar has us fooled into believing that smaller bites and shared bowls mean fewer calories, according to new psychological research.

The findings suggest that “free food” may be a danger to those on a diet.

After observing the group-dining habits and perceptions of 719 snackers, researchers now believe a feeling of a

How To Cut Sugar Out of Your Meals Without Diet Food and Drink

One of the most effective ways to eat more healthily is to reduce the amount of added sugar in your diet.

Higher intake of added sugars has also been linked to dental cavities in both children and adults, as well as raising the risk of obesity—sweeter foods are often higher in calories and fat.

Social media posts by celebrities often promote junk food

Almost 90% of celebrity food and drink social media posts in a recent study were unhealthy enough to be essentially illegal under current British youth-related advertising regulations, the researchers pointed out. Photo by rawpixel/Pixabay

THURSDAY, Jan. 13, 2022 (HealthDay News) — Images of people eating and drinking are a staple of social media, but new research finds such posts from celebrities often puts the spotlight squarely on junk food.

Profit isn’t always the reason why, investigators found: Celebrities often highlight unhealthy food favorites without getting paid for it.

Celebrities, he said, “exist in

There’s a cat food shortage, and Tampa Bay felines are not happy about it

Remember when grocery store shelves practically sagged with rows of every kind of cat food imaginable?

Here is what a cat-owning colleague experienced recently when this latest supply-chain shortage stripped some local shelves bare:

His house cats, presented with not their regular wet food but the unfamiliar dry, staged a hunger strike. They knocked their bowl over twice, in case the message wasn’t clear. And when it became apparent things would not change anytime soon, they threw up in a bedroom in what is believed to have been a deliberate act.

Supply-chain issues that have made scarce everything from cars
